It’s a surpise - come and see!

I’ve got a surprise for you. Well, a surprise especially for those who have been following me since way way back cuz you will know what I am talking about!

The Paper Kits are Back!

Remember these, the paper kits and the paper kit club that so many of you participated in! Wow, I think the last time I did these was in 2018 and before that 2014. I’m not sure what inspired me except perhaps an abundance of paper, a desire to do something creative, and a way to surprise you all! lol

I know I may have told you this before but I want to say it again - I love making these kits, and this time, I love them more than ever. I really do select each and every piece in the kit according to color, theme or patterns included. This is NOT mass production believe me! It takes me weeks to compile the contents of each and every kit.

The packaging (same as before) except now it is extra thick in depth and so I can now include larger items that didn’t previously fit in the previous packaging - Oh Joy!

Let me tell you, these kits are bursting with surprises including (but not limited to since each kit is different):

  • A combination of - at a minimum, 10 sheets of beautiful papers. Some are 8-1/2 x 11 and some are full size 11 x 11 (folded to meet the 8-1/2 x 11 packaging size but worth it!l)

  • Additional smaller size cardstock “matching” papers in random sizes - little grab bags of fun!

  • Tags, tags and more tags - either circles, squares, or rectangles. All beautiful, all complete with holes and/or beautiful string for hanging and attaching any which way you like - some are my own design and extra sweet!

  • Something metal - either fancy paper clips, tokens, jewelry bits etc. - you get the idea - something shiny

  • Ribbon, lace, cording, string - who can be without!

  • Handmade, hand or machine sewn tags, or fabric “collages” in some kits

  • 1 in each kit, of my handmade, beautiful, laminated bookmarks

  • Little mini booklets - either handmade or off the shelf

  • Lots of Stickers, pads of post its, stamps or other

  • May contain test tubes filled with glitter, lace, sequins, flowers or other

  • May contain beads, baubles, or other jewelry findings

  • Journaling cards - you know the kind - either with words, or ready for your own words!

  • Handmade stitched postcards, or blank postcards to make your own

  • May contain pre-made cards and envelopes - big or small

  • Hidden gems in between the papers like to do lists, and/or full size stencils

  • May contain stamps - full size block wood stamps

  • And so much more hidden behind the sheets of beautiful papers.

The kits all start off with the papers. That is my inspiration. I shuffle through hoards of paper stock working to find matching patterns, colors and styles for maximum impact.

Next I decide on the ephemera to go with the style of the kit - vintage- bright-floral,-graphic, and then I add the sparkle - all the fun bits on top of and in between the pages that you won’t see at first glance (deliberately) and finally I look at the overall volume I am offering.

Each kit is designed to help you with colorway ideas. All of the colors and patterns in each kit match and work together beautifully. If you have a project planned - a collage, a mixed media piece, a miniature village of houses (like in my online class) or any other project that involves paper - you’ll be able to use one entire kit and be sure that your colors match and complement each other beautifully.

And there is more. In most kits, I also included 1 or 2 (what appears to be) random colored or patterned papers. These are not random at all - they match! They are meant to expand your preconceived ideas of colorways. Use them - hold them next to each other to see the impact and then go for it in your piece.

As I said in the list above, not only are you getting a full spectrum of items to play with in your next art project, I have also included many hand made items, either handmade books, tags, collages … These are normally sold in my shop separately. Enjoy them - they are my gift to you.

For my long time supporters - yes you may have noted that the price has gone up. Rest assured - these are much “heftier” kits with a lot more included and a lot more items that I handmade myself.

You can see all the new kits coming soon. I will preview pictures in my next post but they may already be in the shop here -before the previews so keep checking. (As always, please try and purchase from my site here as opposed to etsy as I try to transition away from cash grabbing fees and rates!)

Thank you!

Oh - PS. If you have a specific colorway that you’d like to use and want to see it in a kit - let me know - I’ll see if I have the “stuff” to go along with it and I’ll let you know.
