How to use up all that washi tape (and more news)

If you are anything like me, you are probably hoarding boxes full of washi tapes. It seems that we can’t get enough of them. They have been popular for a few years now, but a few new rolls of washi tape always inspires me - still.

(If you don’t know what washi tape is, they originated from japan I believe and they are decorative tapes, most commonly the same width as your standard scotch tape, but they have this amazing ability to stick, yet unstick just as easily. Their main draw of course, is the multitude of patterns of this much loved tape. Just google “washi” and you’ll see how many hits you get!)

Well I have a few ideas on how you can start making use of these tapes. In fact, I have many, many ideas on how to use them but more on that below**. For now, I wanted to show you how I used this tape to make some lovely little notebooks.

The covers of these little notebooks are actually washi tape, taped over a plain cardstock paper. For the notebook in the upper part of the photo above, I used 2 different types of washi.

This is the back inside cover of the notebook. You guessed it - wash tape!

**I really do have tons of non-conventional ideas for how to use this washi tape. And, wait for it - I am going to show you all of them in a new online class I am preparing on Journaling and the simple ways you can use washi tape, not only for decorative purposes in your journal, but also how to use it to help you become a better artist.

Stay tuned for more on this new and exciting class in upcoming posts.
