Busy days with fall arriving

I have been busy these last few months, in fact this past year with a lot of changes happening.

I retired - which was a very big deal and I moved to the “country” to be near the water where I have long wanted to be.

Retirement is a funny thing and something I will talk about more in other posts but it’s the little things that I find particularly interesting. I now have time to fill the ice cube tray because basically - what’s the rush. I can tune things out – I never could before. I love napping – totally foreign to me in earlier life.   Lingering is totally underrated - I find myself doing it without realizing it.

You read a lot of things about people who retire and cannot find their way but I’m not lost. I don’t wander through my house wondering what to do - I have tons of things to keep me busy.

Making Kiss clutch purses (I only recently learned these were called “kiss” clutches) and I love the name …

I love spending time with my dog in our new home …

I draw every single day and have now been turned onto acrylic markers!

and playing with my flowers ..

Also on another front I am in the process of changing things around a bit with my website and shop etc.

First is that I did do a little bit of rebranding. You may have noticed at the top of my page it now shows:
”Cathy Michaels Studio” instead of “Cathy Michaels Design”. I always felt like the word design was a little pretentious - Studio somehow sounds friendlier.

The other change is to my logo. My previous logo doesn’t really appear here on my website but my new one does - it’s at the top next to the blog title and you’ll see it on my youtube and facebook and instagram.

Other ideas I’m entertaining are moving to substack and moving to a new shop website. Squarespace which I use here makes it so difficult to add pictures and pictures are what my blog is all about.

All in the works or rolling around in my brain. Next week we are off to Portugal so I’ll give you more news when we are back!
