Spring/Summer has sprung

I don’t know about your city, but here in Montreal we wait for spring and summer with crossed (and frosty) fingers and toes and hope it will come sooner rather than later and cover us in its warmth.

Well it has arrived but we are still in that in between season where some days are warm at 28 degrees (82F), followed by some days at 14 degrees (57F) - climate change is a real thing people.

Well on one of those warmer days I did manage to get the patio stuff out in hopes that more consecutive warm days are coming our way.

In the meantime, the creative juices have really been flowing. I have been making, making, making and really - just for the fun of it. Not to stock the shop, go to market or any other reason than just the pure pleasure of it. (Some of the items did however make their way into the shop - like these and these.)

Here are a few things I’ve been making that are taking over my workspace.

SNIPPET ROLLS …

I’ve made tons of these snippet rolls and it’s these that actually lead me to make the mini journals below because I thought what am I going to do with all these rolls!!! Some are made with fabric scraps and some with paper scraps and washi and stickers. Making these is addictive so if you start, don’t say I didn’t warn you.

MINI JOURNALS AND NEEDLE CASES …

These were so much fun to make and so simple and as I said they are made from the snippet roles above. I’ve promised (somewhere) a tutorial on making these and if you are interested do let me know - it’ll give me that added motivation.

AMULETS …

I have to say that these have taken over my workspace - I have them everywhere and still am not sure what other work I will incorporate these into or how I will use them. I have attached some of these as charms on the purses I made and which I wear every day. You can find the purses here and the amulets here.

I’m also still sketching random things and I have taken up crochet and apparel sewing as well and maybe I’ll share some of the tops and sundresses I recently made.
