Collage on Birch Panel - "Home is where my heart is"
"Home is where my heart is".
That's the inspiration behind another of these whimsical collage pieces on cradled wood panels.
This one measures: 5 X 5 X 1-1/2" making it a nice "chunky" piece of art.
Each of the houses on this piece are cut out individually, and this time they are sewn onto this colorful floral background making the stitch lines an integral part of this mixed media piece. Once the houses are stitched on I add more color with paint and stamping. Once everything is in place I coat the piece with 5-6 coats of gel medium (like a varnish) adding a nice finish to the overall piece.
